Job Functions:

Requirements and Technical Skills:

  • Experience working with open source and commercial Proxy servers and configurations
  • Recognizes potential, successful, and unsuccessful intrusion attempts and compromises thorough reviews and analyses of relevant event detail and summary information
  • Administer internet/intranet infrastructure, including components such as web, file transfer protocol (FTP), news and mail servers
  • Collaborate with web developers to create and operate internal and external web sites and manage projects
  • Collaborate with development teams to discuss, analyze, or resolve usability issues
  • Develop web site performance metrics
  • Set up or maintain monitoring tools on web servers or web sites
  • Check and analyze operating system or application log files regularly to verify proper system performance.
  • Test issues such as system integration, performance, and system security on a regular schedule or after any major program modifications
  • Recommend web site improvements, identify or address interoperability requirements, evaluate or recommend server hardware or software
  • Implement web site security measures, such as firewalls or message encryption
  • Monitor systems for intrusions or denial of service attacks, and report security breaches to appropriate personnel
  • Identify or document backup or recovery plans
  • Completes network change requests in accordance with service level agreements
  • Troubleshoots firewall and network problems and recommends corrective procedures
  • Background performing incident response and digital forensics

Labor Category Description:

Responsible for providing customer support in solving all phases of complex information security related technical problems. Reviews and recommends information security solutions to customer problems based on an understanding of products/systems test results. Conducts systems security analysis and implementation, system engineering, electrical design, design assurance, testing, software engineering, program design, configuration management, integration, and testing of information security products and techniques. Solutions are based on a firm understanding of government/industry policy, practices, procedures, and customer requirements. Particular attention placed on Guard, Firewall, Secure Network Server, PCMCIA format security solutions, “Smart Cards”, and emerging security technologies and future trends in support of information system and network security. Insures that solutions are fully compatible with or engineered into the customer’s network design. Provides work direction and guidance to other personnel, ensures accuracy of the work of other personnel, operates under deadlines, and is able to work on multiple tasks.

•Application Server; Microsoft Virtual Server & Active Directory
•VMWare ESX erver Development environment software
•Extensible style sheet language XSL; Tool command language
•Microsoft FrontPage Web platform development
•Apache Tomcat; Enterprise JavaBeans; JavaScript Education
•Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience with Cisco and ASA

Labor Category Qualifications:

Masters Degree or higher with over six years of related experience. Equivalents: Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university with eight years experience, or Doctorate Degree with four years experience.
