Job Functions:

Requirements and Technical Skills:

  • Identify polices & procedures in a Back-up & Recovery Plan
  • Back-up data and server system hard drives
  • Manage server systems for all storage networks (SANS) as directed by the collaboration with operational staff
  • Validate the integrity of the back-up copies and provide security of server system backups. Including testing to ensure backups are recoverable
  • Perform an incremental back up of server data on a nightly basis
  • Provide current day recovery from disk storage
  • Provide off-site retention of weekly full back-ups
  • Provide weekly tape and VTL backup reports
  • Provide full and comprehensive backup policy report government upon request
  • Maintain records to back up and recovery server data and provide reporting to the Government
  • Provide plan for server data storage backup that is consistent with the federal NIST guidelines & requirements
  • Designs and develops highly complex, integrated solutions to meet business requirements or enhance performance
  • Netbackup 7.5 – backup policy management
  • Quantum VTL (virtual tape library)
  • Storagetek tape library
  • LTO1/2/3/4 tape media
  • Symantec Opscenter
  • Agent base backups/restores | ESM Exchange service manager/AD/SQL/ORACLE/UNIX
  • Windows 2003/2008 Netbackup media and master servers
  • Understanding of Windows 2003/2008 operating system

Labor Category Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university with five years of related experience. Equivalents: High School diploma with nine years of specialized experience in related field, or Associates Degree with seven years of experience, or Masters Degree with three years experience, or Doctorate Degree with one year experience.

Labor Category Description:

Analyzes functional business requirements and design specifications for functional activities. Provides identification/fixing for the problems within existing systems design/implementation of new systems, enhances the existing systems and participates in analysis, design and new construction of next generation IT systems. Responsible for understanding the needs of the customers and the realities of commercially available IT products and for creating requirements that will allow implementation by the architecture and engineering team and COTS products.
